About me
Thank you for your interest in my portfolio on "education for empowerment." On this page, you can learn more about me, my professional interests, and my experience.
Generating ideas.
Building systems.
Equipping people.
I am an experienced trainer and non-profit manager passionate about social justice and community transformation.
One of my strengths is "conceptual creativity." I love to generate new ideas, whether that's a memorable acronym, the logic model for a new community development program, or a master metaphor for a community-based monitoring framework.
I am also passionate about building effective organizational systems. In my most recent management position, with Food for the Hungry in Cambodia, I worked closely with our program operations, finance, HR, and communications staff to improve our organizational systems so that together we could more effectively fulfill our mission. For instance, one of my legacies in the organization is a streamlined, simple, and effective set of monitoring and reporting tools.

Developing people is one of my core professional interests. I am currently near completion of an M.Ed. in Education and Human Resource Studies with an Adult Education and Training Specialization. You can learn more about my journey through that program here. I have also earned a certificate in coaching skills which included 61 hours of coach-specific training approved by the International Coach Federation. I have extensive experience in developing and conducting trainings, and have significant background in mentoring emerging leaders.
One of the ways in which I equip people is through my preaching in an evangelical church context. Some of my sermons are available online here.
